DHEA on Abdominal Fat and Insulin Action

The effect of DHEA on abdominal fat and insulin action on elderly men and women. Given that animal studies have shown that DHEA has been shown to reduce abdominal visceral fat and protect against insulin resistance in laboratory animals, this study aimed to see outcome measures after 6 months and evaluated for a change in visceral and subcutaneous fat in humans. It showed a significant increase in insulin sensitivity index. Therefore, DHEA can play a role in the prevention and treatment of the metabolic syndrome associated with abdominal obesity.
