Sex Hormones and Metabolic Syndrome in Aging Men

Endogenous Sex Hormones and Metabolic Syndrome in Aging Men.  Higher levels of testosterone and higher levels of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) are independently associated with improved insulin sensitivity and a reduced risk of the metabolic syndrome/early diabetes.  These hormones may protect against the development of metabolic syndrome.
