Hormone Replacement Therapy can improve type 2 diabetes.
The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has tripled in adults aged 20-79 years, especially affecting women during menopause due to weight gain, increased insulin resistance, and hyperinsulinism. Hormone replacement therapy was previously excluded for women with T2DM, this study shows new evidence it can reduce the diagnosis of new-onset T2DM and improve glycemic control for women with pre-existing T2DM. A comprehensive and individualized approach is needed for women during menopause, especially those with T2DM or at risk for the disease. This presentation reviews the etiopathogenic factors, impact of menopause on T2DM, and the role of hormone replacement therapy.

Here is another example of the benefits seen with hormone replacement therapy; again, Type 2 Diabetes DOES NOT have to be a lifelong diagnosis if attacked with dietary changes, exercise, and bio-identical hormone replacement.
